Our Story

RuiDhaaga was never an idea written on paper. It was a feeling that grew quietly over time, like a thread finding its own path.

It started with my mother, Rita. My mother never wore sarees because she had to, She wore them because they told stories. She has always been the kind of woman who finds beauty in what is real. I watched her wear sarees that were never loud but always full of soul. She would travel across towns, and bring home sarees that felt alive & real, in the uneven hand stitch, the imperfect border, the mark of a human touch.

She never chased fashion. She followed feelings.

Her sarees spoke of patience, care, and pride. She would say, “Every thread has a person behind it.” I did not understand that as a child, but I do now.

As I grew older, I found myself drawn to her world. I wore her sarees to events and every time people said I looked like her. And maybe I did, but what they didn’t see was that I was also feeling like her. Calm, confident, connected. That was the beginning of RuiDhaaga.

My mother had always wanted to do something around sarees, but she chose her family first. So when life gave us space, I decided to do it for both of us. RuiDhaaga became our shared dream, built from love that never needed words.

I come from a joint family where values matter more than wealth, and where daughters are taught to build their own wings. My parents never told me to hurry into a life I didn’t choose. They taught me that success is not in money, but in meaning. RuiDhaaga is that meaning for me.

Today, we are proud to work with over a hundred artisans. Every piece they make is hand-stitched, slow, and full of grace. The work is not easy. But their dedication reminds me of my mother’s words,“Good things take time, and love takes effort.”

RuiDhaaga is a celebration of that effort. It is my way of saying thank you to her, to them, and to every woman who believes that quiet work can still create miracles.

When you hold a RuiDhaaga saree, I hope you feel what we feel every day — warmth, pride, and the unspoken bond that runs through every thread.

Because this isn’t just a brand. It’s a journey that started in one home, in one heart, and found its way into many.
